GWP History

Grant Walker started this specialised parts business in 1979 after originally migrating from New Zealand for motor racing opportunities. Grant’s mechanical skills and experience were obtained from working with infamous motor sport teams and drivers including Jim Richards, Keke Rosberg, Ford Boreham Rally Team and Stone Brothers Racing. His amazing experience coupled with his own accolades were the foundations to start a successful spare parts business that has now been operating for close to four decades.

Grant understood mechanical workshop needs and began offering service items like, filters, gaskets and oils to complement major mechanical items like complete engines and gearboxes. He recognized that workshops needed these parts fast so a fleet of delivery utes began getting parts to customers multiple times per day in record time. Industry leading service quickly led to panel shops wanting everything from bonnets to boot lids and many other accident repair parts delivered the same day with reliable quality.

During the past few decades the parts range grew to include Ford, Hyundai, Kia, Volkswagen, Mazda, Audi as well as Skoda and can now source almost any make and model for customers Australia wide.

Specialised knowledge introduced the beginning of our Smart Replacement Part ( SRP ) brand which includes a range of obsolete parts from OEM suppliers which are remanufactured or reconditioned with high quality components.

Operating out of four large warehouses now, Grant, the Walker family and our great team of over 45 people continue to grow the business year after year.
